I have taken some time to explore Seesmic and check out all the features that are available at the moment (the site is still in pre-alpha). I have to say that the guys at Seesmic are doing a very interesting job and here is my first impression of the product.
The interface is intuitive and also the operations of recording and uploading videos are very straightforward. I noticed that you can set Seesmic to automatically post a message with a link to your video on your Twitter account and within your Skype status baloon. This is pretty cool because it makes you save time and lets you share your videos quickly.
I believe there are two ways people can use Seesmic:
- Seesmic can be another distribution channel for video content that is located on other video sharing platforms such as YouTube.
- Seesmic can become a public video conversation platform, but that will depend a lot on what its first users will make of it.
Seems to me that the keywords for Seesmic are three: aggregation (from different video platforms), conversation (through videos), sharing (via Twitter, Skype and other services).
Features I’d like to see
I hope Seesmic will generate a RSS feed for every user I subscribe to as well as the possibility to group video messages that are part of a conversation by using tags or whatever system that can help me do so. Also a search engine would not be bad! But maybe this is too much for a microvlogging platform? :)
I have a question for you: what will happen when (IF) Twitter adds support for audio and video?

Glad your first impression is good and thanks for your review ! We are adding RSS currently, just give us some time.
We are definitely going in the direction of a conversation platform.
As far as Twitter is concerned, we have met and have continuous dialogue between Twitter and Seesmic, all good so far, they are busy with text, we are busy with video :)
see you soon in Seesmic
