Searching for a job becomes something spectacular: the One Week Job video blog
There are so many video projects going on and the one I want to mention today is indeed very interesting. I had the pleasure to get to know Ian MacKenzie (also editor of Brave New Traveler) and Sean Aikin, the two Canadian guys who are behind the One Week Job video blog. What’s so special about this project? Well, basically Sean is going to do a different job every week to find his real passion. It’s a sort of Bildungsroman of the Web generation and goes far beyond what you could ever expect.
I really love the concept and the way it has been developed: Sean (the protagonist) is supported by some sponsors and all the income that derives from his work is given to charities. Sean has been featured on mainstream media and his adventures - accurately directed and remixed by Ian - are transforming him into a star. Here is a video introduction to the project:
Two important Italian events on September: RomagnaCamp and SecurityCamp
The upcoming month will start with two interesting events that are really worth attending: I am talking about two barcamps that will take place in two beautiful Italian cities.

The first, in chronological order, will be held in Ravenna from September 7th-9th and it’s called RomagnaCamp. It is not dedicated to a specific theme and it will take place on the beach; indeed a good occasion for Italian geeks to get some tan while lurking behind their laptops. The RomagnaCamp has been planned some months ahead and the result is that it lists about 100 participants, which is a impressive number for a barcamp. If you want to participate you can either add your name to the list in the RomagnaCamp wiki or join the event via Facebook by visiting the dedicated page.

The other barcamp will take place in Viareggio on September 15th and it’s called SecurityCamp. As the name itself suggests, this barcamp is dedicated to the themes of online security and piracy. The number of attendants is unimpressive if compared to the RomagnaCamp, but the SecurityCamp seems to be ready to make room for interesting conversations. I am sure that many more people are going to join the guys in Viareggio in the upcoming weeks. If you want to participate, simply head to the SecurityCamp wiki and add your name. If you are on Facebook, visit the page dedicated to the event.
I will attend both the barcamps and, luckily, I have already found accommodation. There would be no better way to end of the summer!
Launching the Italian version of my blog
I have decided to make this blog available also in Italian language, therefore I have just created a twin blog that is available here and also by clicking on the Italian flag that you can see on the sidebar. I think it is a good idea, since I am going to start a project (Intruders TV Italia) which is entirely dedicated to the Italian public.
I also have some news regarding Intruders TV Italia: yesterday I have opened a Twitter account that I will use to send updates related to the launch of Intruders in Italy. Since this account has been conceived as a one-to-many information channel, I will only accept “followers” and won’t add anybody as “friends”. On the other hand, people interested in getting in touch with me can always refer to my personal Twitter account.
To summarize:

Thanks for your kind support, I really appreciate it a lot!
About success and opportunities
Plans for the End of the Summer

My holidays are over and I’m back home. I have spent some great time in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London, where I had the opportunity to meet some old friends and make new ones. You can check out some pictures on my Flickr page (I will add more stuff in the future). Now it’s time to get back to work, although August is a month that inspires me laziness!
However, I have found some time to write this article for the very cool online travel magazine Brave New Traveler, which I hope you will like.
I’m now preparing videos for the upcoming Italian edition of Intruders TV, which I will present on September 8th, during the RomagnaCamp (thanks to my friend Luca Sartoni -who is one of the promoters - for having suggested that to me). I think that a barcamp will provide the best environment for introducing Intruders TV to the Italian public and I hope to gather some good feedback from the people attending that event.
I will post more details about Intruders TV in the upcoming days. For now, my suggestion is to check out the RomagnaCamp wiki and add yourself to the list: I am sure this one will be a great event, since the folks who are organizing it are skilled, smart and know what they are doing.
